LAMESA BAPTIST ASSOCIATION EXECUTIVE BOARD

July 6, 2017

 Meeting at Northside Baptist Church

 

The meeting was called to order by moderator Dennis Adams. Opening prayer was led by Dennis Adams. A new staff member, Tobey Clements, was welcomed as the new pastor for Second Baptist Church.

 

The Minutes were received as printed after a motion by Garland Stueart and a second by Tommy Sanders.

 

The Finance Report, given by Connie Sanders, was approved after a motion by Corny Dyck and second by Connie Sanders.

 

The Disaster Relief Report was given by Lyn Vogler. The shower trailer is on its 3rd of 4 summer trips. It was in Comanche June 11-16 for the 18th year of a youth program which has worked on 265 houses. They had 250 kids this summer. Martha Hollawell from Abilene tended our trailer at FBC, Gallup during World Changers with 100 kids June 17-24. That church sent a donation to our association in appreciation for using our trailer. Our trailer is presently in Arlington at Grace Street Baptist Church June 21-July 28 where 2,000 kids are participating in Mission Arlington. The trailer is scheduled to go to Rock The Dessert the 1st week of August.

 

The River Ministry Report was given by Evie Dyck. River Ministry VBS this summer will be July 8-15 where they will conduct 2 VBS simultaneously in the evenings. They are taking 794 health kits and 40 baby kits. Remember this ministry in your prayers.

 

The Circle Six Camp Report was given by Brian Colbath. Their 4th child, a baby girl was born 2 weeks ago. The camp has had 27 saved this summer. Five years ago, they had 60 at youth camp, but they had 246 at youth camp this year. Five years ago, they had 115 at Girls camp and 252 this year. Five years ago, they had 80 at pre-teen camp and 200 this year. Plans are being made for two pre-teen camps and two youth camps next summer. The new cabin is nearly finished. September 15th and 16th is the Women’s conference.

 

The Media Report was given by Travis Debnam. Our web site has received 91 hits on 345 pages.

Crestview came in first with 38 hits, Friendship was second with 27 hits. 91% of the hits are from the USA with only 14 hits from Lamesa.

 

Motion to receive all reports was made by Margie Archer and seconded by Lyn Vogler, carried.
