LAMESA BAPTIST ASSOCIATION EXECUTIVE BOARD

July 7, 2016, meeting at Northside Baptist Church

The meeting was called to order by moderator Dennis Adams. Opening prayer was led by Garland Stueart.

The Minutes were approved as printed after a motion by Garland Stueart and a second by Dee Woolam.

The Finance Report was approved after a motion by Garland Stueart and second by Ron land.

The Disaster Relief Report was given by Lyn Vogler. The shower trailer was called out for disaster flooding at Rosenberg near Houston. They provided 245 laundries and 210 showers. Tommy Carpenter and Jim Weeks took the trailer to Rosenberg on June 11th and Garland Stueart went June 14th and let Tommy come home. Garland brought the trailer home June 20th . Jim, E L and Carolyn took the trailer to Mission Arlington June 21st. July 17-22 a church of Christ Youth group from Paris, TX will use the trailer east of Dallas. July 23 - 28 the trailer goes to Chama, NM for a 5-day youth mission trip. The trailer goes to Rock the Dessert near Odessa the first weekend of August.

The Evangelism Report was given by Bro. Charles Empey. July 31st and October 30 we will have association wide 5th Sunday singing. September 10th from 9:30am till 2pm there will be a Bible Conference led by Terry Turner. At the next executive board, we will have plans for a September blanket evangelism project all across Lamesa with hopefully every church participating.

The River Ministry Report was given by Evie Dyck. 25 are signed up to leave July 9th through 15th. Pray for safe travel and during the VBS. Last year material that was sent across the border helped revitalize discouraged churches.

The Circle Six Camp Report was given by Dennis Adams. The summer camps are having lots of salvations. They are getting ready to pour the slab for the new dorm.

The Media Report was given by Travis Debnam. Our web site received 177 hits and 345 pages. Friendship had the most hits. 114 hits were from the USA. 47 hits were from the United Kingdom.

New Business: We have been using an all steel trailer for the River Ministry. It is so heavy it limits the weight of the contents and two trailers are usually needed. A motion was made by Charles Empey and seconded by Dee Woolam that we purchase a 28-foot trailer for $8500 that was found to be available. This trailer has a walk in side door as well as back doors and double axels. Motion carried.

E L Hogg offered $500 for the old river ministry trailer that we are using now. Connie Sanders made a motion, seconded by Connie Land to approve the offer. Motion carried.

There was discussion about in the future swapping the present shower trailer and this 28-ft. trailer making the larger trailer into the shower trailer and the present shower trailer into the river ministry trailer.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:50 with a prayer led by Dennis Adams.
