LAMESA BAPTIST ASSOCIATION EXECUTIVE BOARD

November 10, 2016, meeting at Primera Baptist Church

 

The meeting was called to order by moderator Dennis Adams. Opening prayer was led by Charles Empey.

 

The Nominating Report: Both Martin & Lesli Nichols and Jim and Lana Medley have been approached about filling the two vacancies in the Circle Six Camp Board from LBA. Garland Stueart made a motion to elect whichever couple agreed to accept the two positions. Motion passed after a second by Charles Empey.

 

The Minutes were received as printed after a motion by Garland Stueart and a second by Margie Archer.

 

The Finance Report given by Connie Sanders, was approved after a motion by Garland Stueart and second by Corny Dyck. A $8500 disaster relief trailer was purchased out of the general fund. Then $4000 from the disaster relief fund was moved to the general fund

 

The Disaster Relief Report was given by Lyn Vogler. Tommy Sanders and Garland Stueart have been working on the plumbing on the disaster relief trailer.

 

The Evangelism Report was given by Bro. Charles Empey. He reported on the October 29th Evangelism Conference. Garland Stueart, Dee Woolam and Dennis Adams preached and Tony Bushong conducted the music portions of the program.

 

The River Ministry Report was given by Carolyn Hogg. Today, October 10th, is the deadline for Christmas shoe box gifts. 449 boxes have already been received and 120 are expected to arrive tomorrow from Jal, NM. 16 boxes were received from Genesis, Pat Githen’s church in Lubbock. About 669 boxes will be taken November 18th-20th to the border. The second river ministry trip will be December 9th-11th to take food, clothing, blankets and other gifts to churches and a doctor who ministers across the border. Pray for pastors getting the gifts and for safe travel.

 

The Circle Six Camp Report was given by Brian Colbath. The October Adult Rally brought in just under $5000. Builders are working on the new cabin and remodeling the nurses’ station to hold more beds. Something new on next year’s calendar is a women’s conference scheduled for September 15-16.

 

The Media Report was given by Travis Debnam. The web site received 232 hits with 207 users. 770 pages were viewed. 133 hits were from the USA, 42 from the UK and 27 from Germany.

 

Motion to receive all reports was made by Charles Empey and seconded by Margie Archer, carried.

 

A Christmas party for all pastors and staff and wives and executive board members and officers and their spouses will be December 5th. Gary Shook will serve BBQ at 6:30 at Crestview Baptist Church.

 

Motion to adjourn was made by Charles Empey, seconded by Garland Stueart. Carried.
