LAMESA BAPTIST ASSOCIATION EXECUTIVE BOARD September 13, 2018 Meeting at Crestview Baptist Church
Vice Moderator Garland Stueart called the meeting to order. Opening prayer was led by Tobey Clements.
The Minutes of the July Executive Board meeting were accepted as printed after a motion by Tobey Clements and second by Jim Rush.
The Finance Report was approved as printed after a motion by Tommie Sanders and second by Margie Archer. The Disaster Relief Report was given by Lyn Vogler. Corny and Evie Dyck took our shower trailer to “Rock the Dessert” near Odessa, TX. Approximately 178 showers were provided. The River Ministry Report was given by Carolyn Hogg. Twelve people from Lamesa Association went on the VBS River Ministry trip. Some that live in the area helped with the evening and afternoon schools that averaged 20 in attendance. Four were saved during the week. There were some tire issues on the return trip with 2 tires being replaced. Information will be mailed soon about the Christmas Shoe Boxes. Pray for the committees in Fabens who sort the boxes, the pastors and children who will receive the shoe boxes. The Circle Six Camp report was given by Brian Colbath. It was a good summer with 116 reported salvations so far. There was a summer staff turnover. It was the largest camp season since 2006. There are already 140 registered for the second annual Women’s Conference which is Sept. 14th -15th. The Adult Rally is October 29th. The DOM from Lubbock Association, Jerry Joplin will bring the afternoon program after the auction sales in the morning. September 26th we expect 300 youth to attend “Saw You at The Pole”. If you would like to help the camp save on postage, you may request the camp newsletter to be sent by E-mail. The Media Report was given by Travis Debnam. In the last 60 days there have been 309 sessions with 293 users, 632 pages viewed. 42.66% of the hits were from the USA with 132 hits from Paris, France. Crestview Baptist Church had the most hits. Motion to receive all reports as given was made by Margie Archer, seconded by Lyn Vogler. The motion carried. Those mentioned for prayer were Vicki and Wayne Fillingim who were air lifted to Lubbock after being injured when their home exploded at Lake Stamford, and Tobey Clements’s son whose ship is in dry dock on the east coast where the Hurricane is headed.
