RIVER MINISTRY REPORT 2016-17

River Ministry Report 2016 – 17

Each year seems to go more quickly than the year before and as the new church year begins it seems only a few days since the beginning of the last year! The goal of sharing Jesus with others becomes more urgent with each passing day! During the past year we saw many changes but we also were reminded “God Never Changes!” He’s always there leading, guiding, protecting, meeting challenges and changing lives. God always has an awesome plan for each of our lives and for River Ministry.

With God’s leadership, many people in Lamesa Baptist Association and others gave many toys, gifts, staple foods, blankets, winter clothing and finances to meet many needs along the Border. Because you gave, we were able to provide boxes of staple foods and a turkey for 6 pastors. They also received Christmas gifts, staple foods, blankets, and winter clothing to share with people in their communities. Fruit and candy bags were given to 150 Border children.

The Christmas Shoebox Ministry is a wonderful blessing and opportunity to share the Love of Christ with needy children. Over 640 children, who received nothing else for Christmas, received a shoebox that you helped provide. This is an inexpensive, simple way to share Jesus with a child and his family. We know God will greatly bless you!

During the year, donated clothing and household items help churches on the Border Ministry and witness to people in their communities

On July, Vacation Bible School was an exciting, rewarding time. There were 25 workers that came with a willingness and openness to follow and serve the Lord. God’s Spirit led each on to minister through VBS in His Love and Unity. This year part of the groups helped with Vacation Bible Schools in a city park each morning and all the group divided to do two evening Schools simultaneously. This worked well so many lives were touched and decisions were made. You helped provide all the needs for the Bible Schools here in Texas and also supplies, materials, Bibles, and Health Kits for 4 Vacation Bible Schools in Mexico. Because you were willing to share the blessings God has given you, each of you had a part in each life touched in Texas and Mexico through VBS. Please continue to pray for the people, pastors, and churches along the Border

The Christmas Shoebox ministry will be coming in November and we are praying for over 700 shoeboxes for the increasing number of needy children.

The Christmas trip will be in December to help proved food, gifts, winter clothing, and blankets to help people have a Christmas learning of God’s Love and Provision.

With God’s Leadership, Corny and Evie Dyck coordinated each of the trips this past year. Please continue to pray for God’s continuing leadership for River Ministry and the coordinators. Please keep all the trips in your prayers (Vacation Bible School trip in July) as you pray about your involvement through prayer support, donations, and going on a trip.

We are unable to thank each of you personally for your continued love and support for River Ministry. We are so Blessed to serve the Lord with each of you and we pray God’s abundant Blessings on each of you!
